Practices and Policies
Who
The FSBC welcomes badminton players in Grade 10 and older, regardless of skill or experience.
When & Where
Mondays 8-10 pm @ Southpointe School.
Fees
Fees are used to cover the costs of gym rentals, shuttles, and the website. Players must supply their own rackets and indoor shoes. Financial reports are available on request.
Memberships
A yearly fee will be collected from members on their first night of play. In exchange for their up-front commitment, member rates are set lower than drop-in rates.
Drop-Ins
Drop-in players are welcome on any and all nights of play. The drop-in fee is $5 per session. Drop-ins are required to sign in before they play.
Cancellations & Refunds
If a one-off cancellation occurs, the website schedule will be updated and an email sent to players. (Sorry, no refunds for one-off cancellations.)
If life circumstances (injury, illness, etc.) prevent a member from playing, the member may request a refund.
Should the club ever dissolve, members will be refunded and any remaining assets will be donated to the Edmonton District Badminton Association (https://edba.org/).
Court Management
Players are allowed one game before surrendering their court. A short warm-up is permitted before starting.
When courts are full, a queuing system is used to ensure everyone gets equal opportunity for court time. The system is explained to new players on their first night.
Player Conduct
Players are expected to be considerate, fair, and inclusive to all other players.
Players are expected to behave in a safe and mature manner.
Players are expected to help with equipment set-up and take-down.
